Sneak Peek at the Hardcover, Release Events, Getting Signed Copies or Bookplates, &tc.
Only three weeks until The Book of Gothel's release!
Hello, hello—
I can’t believe it’s already July, release month for The Book of Gothel! I have some news to share, which I’ll summarize below…
Finished Copies of the U.S. Edition Are Here!
I received my finished copies of the U.S. edition of The Book of Gothel—the copies that will actually be sold in U.S. bookstores—and they’re so beautiful I wanted to share them with you! Below are some pictures.
I’m really excited about the look and feel of the U.S. hardcover because it resonates with the premise of the novel, that The Book of Gothel is a long-lost medieval manuscript. The two-tone hardcover, gold-stamped spine, and deckle edges have perfect old book vibes!
If you missed my unboxing video and want to check it out, it’s here.
How To Get Signed Copies
If you’re in the Atlanta, Georgia area, I’ll be doing a signing at Virginia Highland Books on July 30.. If you’re not in Atlanta, and you’re interested in getting your copy signed, the best way to do so is to preorder—or find your receipt, if you’ve already preordered—and upload a picture of your proof of purchase with your mailing address to this form: https://forms.gle/i7Dcj72uZ76APZqg8. At the end of the month, I’ll send everyone who completes the form the following:
a signed bookplate to put in your copy,
the official Gothel bookmark from Orbit, and
a recipe card for a delicious historical food from the novel.
Other Launch Events
I’ll also be participating in a virtual conversation on “Malevolent Mothers of Myth” for the Orbit Live series on July 19 with Vaishnavi Patel, author of Kaikeyi. If you’d like to come talk with us and participate in our Q&A, register now.
Other events are in the works but not yet confirmed.
That’s all for now! As always, thank you for your support.
